2012 NASED Honors Jan Painter with the Lifetime Achievement Award
Anaheim CA—The National Association of Special Equipment Distributors (NASED) presented its 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award to Jan Painter. Jan help bring many great products to market as she worked for GSI for over 30 years. The award was presented at the association’s annual meeting during the AAA convention.
Ms Painter was an active contributor many new product development teams with multiple generations of products which included the 1715, GSI 10, 16, 61 and Audiostar Pro Audiometers. She also worked on the 1723, GSI 33, and Tympstar Tympanometers as well as, numerous portable audiometers and tympanometers.
Jan negotiated with Sensimetrics as part their SBIR grant to help develop and market DPOAE products; this led to the release of the GSI 60 clinical DPOAE system followed by the GSI 70 screening DP system. Also, she was responsible for FDA 510 K submissions from the late 1970s through mid 1990’s; this included FDA clearance for the ILO 88 TEOAE.
She also worked closely with Rufus Grason on the ANSI middle ear standard committee. Jan organized, developed and managed the Marketing department when Rufus re-purchased GSI from GenRad; this included sales, service, order processing, sales promotion, and product management through the mid 1990’s.
Longtime friends and colleagues Greg Ollick Sr., Jim Schilling, and Ron Taylor all presented the award to her.
